Concerts

Although the Galena Brass can provide music for a variety of functions, and in a variety of settings, our specialty is performing Concerts. Past engagements have included:

  • Concert Series
  • Retirement Communities
  • Civic Functions
  • Festivals
  • School Assemblies.

A Galena Brass is more than just a concert. A Galena Brass concert takes the listener on a musical journey through the decades. Although we can usually design a program to suit your needs, past programs have included selections such as:

  • Elmer's Tune (Glenn Miller)
  •
Lion Sleeps Tonight (1950s #1 hit)
  •
You Made Me Love You (Harry James)
  • Bill Bailey (New Orleans)
  • Three Sea Shanties (Folk Songs)
  •
Barnyard Blues (Dixieland Classic)
  •
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (1970s)
  •
Presto (Mozart)

  • The American Way (20th Century March)
  •
Trumpet Voluntary (17th Century)

  • Red Raven Polka (Polka)
  •
Mexicali Rose (A Classic Waltz)
  •
Tiger Rag (Dixieland Classic)
  •
Dixieland Revival (Religious Medley)

As you can see, a wide variety of time periods and styles is represented in this program.  However, we can also perform thematic concerts.  Here is a sampling:

  • 1950s Music---Elvis, Ritchie Valens, Bill Haley, and more!

  • American Music---Patriotic selections and American composers would be featured.

  • Dixieland and Jazz---Tuneful and melodic jazz are our specialty.

  • Christmas Music---We have over 60 holiday pieces in our repertoire.
